Apple Tiger shows up in the wild

Pre-order the beast at Amazon, or not
Mon Oct 18 2004, 13:53
THE NEW edition of Apple OSX, Tiger, has shown up over at Amazon.com.

The book-chaps had the release date listed as March 31 2005, although we suspected that was simply a guesstimate, based on Apple's announcement that Tiger will ship in the first half of 2005. Now, however, the product shows up as 'not stocked or... discontinued' - after fevered speculation around the Mac community that Amazon had made a rather fruity faux pas and pre-announced Apple's launch for it.

Tiger features integrated RSS reading ( great for reading the Inq then - Ed) as well as a spanking new search engine that will have the jump on Longhorn by at least a year. It also promises plenty of Apple-esque eye candy, such as Dashboard widgets to increase productivity and available desktop real estate.

We love Apple here at the Inq, and don't let Nasty Nick (Farrell) tell you otherwise. The L'INQ to the Amazon Tiger page is here.
