GRAPHICS CARD vendor Sapphire said it is scheduled to release HD2600 and HD2400 in July but will include a passively cooled board called the HD 2600 XT Ultimate.

This board will include 24 shader pipelines, a 128 memory bus and GDDR 3 memory.

The HD2600 and HD2400 series include Avivo HD video and display technology, and a hardware unified video decoder designed to speed up decoding for Blu-ray and HD DVDs, taking the load off the "brain of the computer".

Every model has dual link DVI outputs while multi channel 5.1 audio is integrated with the graphics output so it can be piped through an HDMI adaptor.

Specs, said Sapphire, are subject to change. Prices are not yet available. µ
