Intel accuses AMD of love-bombing the media

Dear Vince, get Chimpzilla to cut it out
Monday, 19 March 2007, 15:39
LAWYERS FOR CHIP giant Intel penned a letter to Special Master Vincent J Poppiti, accusing AMD of blanket mailing the media - that includes us - with hearing transcripts based on preliminary material.

That hearing being AMD's antitrust case against Intel.

AMD, it's alleged, pointed the finger at executives Craig Barrett, Paul Otellini and Sean Maloney "knowing that their comments were based on Intel's limited and incomplete review".

The transcript is a public document, admitted Intel, but AMD "chose to exploit the transcript".

Therefore, Intel will throw its toys out of the pram is reluctant to carry on proceedings on the informal basis it initiated.

It is true that AMD does email us and the world+dog if anything happens in the court case the PRs think we'd be interested in. On the other hand, Intel doesn't. ยต
