ASUS HAS told the INQUIRER what it's contemplating for its high end cards in terms of pricing and availability.

The firm told us Asus will sample AX800, its Radeon X800PRO card, by the end of the month and it will cost $400 $ in the US and £290 + VAT in the UK.

Its AX800XT samples based on Radeon X800XT should be ready at the same time and will cost $499 or £350 + VAT in the UK.

Asus' highest end Nvidia card will be sampled by the end of May and will cost $499 or £350 + VAT in the UK, making it a direct competitor to ATI's card.

We will try to discover when these cards will arrive in the shops, but the good news is that the AX800 is likely to be available right at the beginning of June. µ
