Intel up 50 cents, AMD down 69 cents

See-saw, Marjory Daw; Tessera up Rambus doon
Tuesday, 26 September 2006, 21:03
THE FAMILIAR see-saw between AMD and Intel which has been kind of absent for the last 18 months is showing signs of a recrudescence today.

Intel (INTC) rose 50 cents on nano news from its developer forum, while AMD fell by 69 cents.

That's probably due to nanometrics - Intel's CEO Paul Otellini said it has shipped millions of pesky 65 nanometre chips, while AMD is clearly a year behind on the process.

Dell was up 49 cents on the day, while the BUGgers at Hewlett Packard (HPQ) fell slightly, with all agog at revelations Hurd might make to the US parliament on Thursday this week.

Tessera (TSRA) was up $1.38, while Rambus (RMBS) was down 13 cents. Broadcom (BRCM) fell by 55 cents after a steep rise yesterday.

Google (GOOG) rose $3.27 to $407.25, while Vole (MSFT) was up 29 cents to stand at $27.24 in trading on Monsieur Nasdaq. ยต
