Blogger breaks record for time spent in prison

No, you can't have my video

A BOGGER has broken all records for how long a US hack is prepared to stay in prison for not giving coppers the evidence they're demanding.

Online hack Josh Wolf has now been inside since August last year after a Grand Jury prosecutor held him in contempt of court for not turning over a video of a July, 2005 anti-G8 demonstration.

A copper was cracked on the noggin in the demonstration. Wolf claims that if the video is shown in its entirety, the tape proves that the police might have caused some of the resulting violence.

Wolf was OK about handing over the video to a trail judge, but did not want his evidence 'edited' by the prosecution in order to selectively support only its side of the argument. It would be used to prosecute demonstrators for violent acts rather than allow a bigger picture to be seen.

He is also concerned that the prosecution is a federal investigation by a terrorism task force investigating a civil demonstration.

Meanwhile he has earned the distinction of being the longest serving journalist doing time for refusing to co-operate with a court.

Wolf is still bogging from gaol. µ
