Segway to recall scooters

A question of balance
Thu Sep 14 2006, 15:01
SEGWAY will recall 23,500 scooters because of a software glitch.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Segway announced a voluntary recall.

More details here.

The "Personal Transporter" has caused some injuries because the wheels can start spinning in the opposite direction to which they should.

The scooters need a free software upgrade and shouldn't be used until that's done. µ
