List washing dirty linen in public
Monday, 20 October 2003, 12:35
THERE'S A HOT discussion over on a Usenet site about SPAM, about abuse, and about unsolicited mail in general.

People have complained that they received offers from Evesham by email and couldn't find any way to stop getting them.

That has led some recipients to bug Evesham's ISP and now there's a hot bunfight going on, with virtual arrows flying over the Usenet group.

And it appears that someone has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) which is investigating the email affair.

One guy complained to GXN that it had sent his details across to Evesham against his express wishes, and has accused the ISP of "list washing".

Sheesh! Lots of buns flying over here!. ยต
