Peers to quiz banks, APACS over Internet security

Are people protected enough?
Wed Dec 06 2006, 15:58
THE HOUSE OF LORDS is calling on APACS, the Financial Services Authority, Visa and the Royal Bank of Scotland to give evidence on personal internet security.

The peers want the organisations to tell them about policies aimed at protecting people who suffer from Internet fraud.

The witnesses will also be asked whether the voluntary refund of bank customers suffering Internet fraud is good enough.

They will also ask the organisations to respond to questions about phishing emails and the possibilities for using Chip and Pin online. The evidence will be heard next Wednesday in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.
