PLAYING ON FEARS that a mobile phone can fry your brains, a Norwegian manufacturer - Handy Fashions - has come up with two protective garments: - a baseball cap and a waistcoat.

The cap actually looks more like a Sherlock Holmes Deerstalker with flaps that cover the ears made from EMF absorbent materials which the maker claims not only shields the wearer from 99.999 per cent of harmful emissions but also increases radio reception!

The caps are available in trendy blue or black and Hand Fashions say they are even suitable for children. [The British Stewart report on mobile phone usage recommended that children shouldn't use mobile phones excessively.]

Just in case you might feel like a complete Dork wearing the cap, Handy Fashions also manufacturers a waistcoat that contains a number of EMF reflective materials including real silver.

This would allow the wearing to insert his or her mobile handset into the breast pocket and carry out a conversation using a hands-free kit. The cap incidentally, retails for around $50.

As The INQUIRER has stated before those worried about emissions from handsets would be better off purchasing a new handset with a much lower SAR rating. This is much lower than most of its competitors. The USA has set a maximum SAR value of 1.6 for moble phone whereas another Norwegian company, MagCom produces a handset with a value of 0.043 SAR.

Here's the DorkWare. µ
