Firm combats phone bullying with a blog

Answer to everything
Thursday, 3 May 2007, 12:14
KIDS MAY NOW be at risk of being bullied or targeted by sexual predators over their mobile phones, US firm Genmobi Technologies reckons.

The firm is promoting its Bee Safe campaign by giving tips on how to deal with "cyber predators".

It points to a survey carried out for Mobile Youth '06, which finds that mobile phones have become the fastest growing medium for interactive communications between children between 5 and 19.

So, in order to combat remote bullying, Genmobi has started a blog. Yes, the mighty blog will end bullying, bring about world peace and bring agreement on whose god is best.

The firm has even created a set of tips aimed at helping out both kids and their parents when they start to get bullied by text. Or take part in chatting via mobile.

In time, the Bee Safe Tips will be translated into other languages besides English, including Spanish, French and even Portuguese.

Bizarrely, the mobile phone revolution appears to have passed Genmobi by. Although these tips are posted on the company's web site, there's no sign of them being available via text. D'oh! µ
