Warner intros dual format discs

CES 007 Blu Ray and HD-DVD co-existing in a different way
Thursday, 11 January 2007, 18:32
WARNER HOME VIDEO announced the release of a dual format Blu Ray HD DVD disc called the "Total Hi Def" disc.

The disc which is capable of dual layer content on both sides will reduce confusion in the marketplace and ease retailers concerns about shelf space, Warner reckons.

This is sure to be a shock to both the HD-DVD camp and the Blu Ray camp but makes sense from Warner's perspective as they were one of the few studios to support both formats. How this will affect release dates and the cost of a title is not known at this time. µ
