The chip, called the Entropia III, will also at the same time include a set of telephony features and carrier class echo cancellation, while operating at lower power.
The system on a chip will give 28 GMACs of DSP processing and one GOP of network processing at less than three milliwatts a channel, said Centillium.
The Entropia III is backwards compatible with previous application program interfaces (APIs) of the chip family and will also support a number of standards for voice over IP including Ethernet, AAL5, VoATM AAL1 and AAL2.
