Intel will be happy at Vista delay

Forrester report claims Viiv will be helped
Monday, 27 March 2006, 10:15
MAKER of chips, Intel, will be opening the champers after its friend Microsoft decided to delay the release of its super soaraway Vista, according to analysts Forrester.

Analysts Paul Jackson and Ted Schadler say that the delay will help Chipzilla to get some traction for its ViiV home entertainment platform before Vista hits the shops.

Up until now, the report's analysts say, Viiv would have found itself competing for the hearts and minds of punters in the entertainment sector.

Now, they claim, Intel has a much better chance of getting its feet under the table and establishing itself in the Christmas market.

The report says that the only real losers from Vole coming out late will be HP, Dell, and other PC retailers who will lose the chance to sell PCs as Chrimbo presents.
