Matsushita plunges cash into plasma offensive

LCD, eat your heart out

MAJOR JAPANESE manufacturer will invest ¥280 billion to build a fab making plasma screens.

Nikkei.net reported that the factory will be built in the Hyogo Prefecture and when it comes online in 2009, will be able to make one million units a month.

Matsushita, probably better known for its Panasonic brand, already has four plasma factories. µ
