AMD's Thorton picture up on web

The chip that doesn't exist, exists

PICTURES OF THE AMD Thorton chip, which the firm claimed never existed earlier this year, have appeared on a web site.

Hexus.net has a pic of what appears to be a Barton but only with half the level two cache, that is to say 256K.

We suspect that these are Bartons that didn't quite make the full time grade and there were enough of these to make it worthwhile marketing them.
