Via gets shock boost from Intel - report

Little SiS gets Chipzilla support too
Tuesday, 23 January 2007, 10:50
TAIWANESE CHIP MAKER Via will get the backing of Intel for its Mini-ITX motherboard, Digitimes claimed today.

Little Via has had its ups and downs with Intel in the past, but the Taiwanese wire claims to have seen roadmaps which show the Mini-ITX as the design for mobos using entry level processors to be used for tidgy little systems, or "small form factor" PCs, in the jargon.

And, in yet another boost for Taiwan, plucky little chipset firm SIS is being recommended by Intel as the supplier of its 662 intgrated chipsets. µ
