Man hits back at AOL spamming suit

Denies he sent spamsters despite legal action
Fri Apr 18 2003, 13:08
ONE OF THE PEOPLE served with lawsuits by America Online at the end of last week has denied he's sent unwanted spam emails to folk worldwide.

Michael Levesque, based in Issaquah, has told the Seattle Times that he hadn't sent unsolicited emails to people, and in fact had shut down a site over three months ago after AOL asked him to stop.

But the man did admit to the newspaper that he'd been involved with George Moore of Maryland Internet Marketing to sell anti-viral software.

Even then, claimed Levesque, that was just a marketing agreement and spam wasn't used.
