Poll Roundup
Why is it so quiet around here lately ? No real overwhelming results in the polls this week. PROMETHEA wasn't able to get much out of us, other than a little grumbling, and rolling over to go back to sleep.

Where is the Other Plaice?
As I said, nothing definitive. Either they're into the booze, or the food. Pretty sure Dr. Spinola was trying to be a wee bit smug this week, what with this and his list of hardware he posted in other threads.

Weekly Folly
Well a sporadic and eclectic week on the forum. I'll try my best to summarize events, but it aint gonna be easy. To be perfectly honest I could sum it up rather easily. Someone posts something, we discuss cars or planes. Lets see if I can make anything out of the ramblings…

Mornington Crescent
Well, we're up to 229 posts for two full games. A few liberties were taken in the rules, and a fair bit of streaking going on. But if you're familiar with the game, nothing terribly new. Even this we turned into a short discussion on cars. Well technically anyways, there has always been some discussion about whether a Citroen can be classified as a car. As it doesn't meet any of the requirements. Current winners: Cupid and WHITEKNAVE.

Why is it so quiet around here lately?
We discussed why our post volume was down, after a dozen posts of lame excuses like being on vacation, admiring the weather and the like, we were prompted by the Flashman's gardening to discuss food and eating. Somehow we moved on to the deviant sexual habits of dolphins, and from that, the logical progression to killer birds, and ferns. A little cross-posting brought us into cars as usual. For those of you who have endured our many and varied car discussions, you'll find nothing new here.

Mikey reopened Hmmmn... what was it again
And that gave us a chance to ramble on. GHC popped back in, and of course all the guys flock around her, sometimes with good, sometimes with bad, results. In this case it was a minor argument over what women want, and the better bits of Aliens the movie. Speaking of which, is TAMEALIEN on vacation…again?

Chilli Sauce/Olives
started by FastFourier (AL_V) was another food discussion. If you're looking for good chilies, got some suggestions here. As usual Hermie has a couple of good cooking bits as well.

Another big cross thread topic this week was recording digital versions of analog recordings. Nutter Frnht, and Dr. Spinola were the leads on this subject.

I'm proud of you all , is where most of the meat of the discussion went on.

A homemade mp3 player - network question
This was my favorite technical discussion this week. Lots of neat technical bits and links to wireless networking, minimal Linux installs, all the things that make a geeks eyes glaze over. Then somehow we started talking planes, and I brought in the wonderful and beautiful south pacific islands. Probably one of the more interesting threads of the week.

Non-sequitor of the week is Travelling We started out with a post on travel foibles, Hermie was hanging on by the merest thread by the second post, by the end Thermionic was talking about how to make tourists sick. Really only the first post is on topic.

Plane pix up from SDMAHANEY was a burner near the end of the week. Mostly talk about planes with some geek griping at the end.

We had volume issues this week, thanks to vacations and lovely weather, but the conversations were rather interesting. Dr. Spinola was nice enough to spend some time with us during Mikey's absence.

Wednesday night was rather interesting when 5 or 6 of the regulars were on at once. Not that we said anything interesting, 'twas fun though.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
