AMD starts sewing its own threads

NEW i955x-based motherboards are slowly trickling down the retail chain. Hexus sends us the review of one of them, the Gigabyte GA-8AENXP-D Mainboard. The retail box comes with four SATA cables and enough acessories to fill a rucksack. It costs £150 which is more expensive than a Dual Xeon board but has the latest technologies bundled with it.

X86-secrets sends us news that the Athlon 64 Dual core has Hyperthreading like capabilities. It does not mean of course that it will be HT compatible, just that it exhibits HT like properties. One of the readers Cybug says that increase in performance will be around 90%.

Insanetek tests the DFI Lanparty UT nForce Ultra-D which is the price conscious Afficionados' motherboard choice. It overclockswonderfully well, so well, insanetek considers it to be the best OC available.

Legionhardware has the review of a K8T890 board, the lonely Gigabyte K8V890-9 motherboard. Expect no miracle though as the board lacks any overclocking options, has no integrated LAN oroverclocking and has just two SATA ports. It is cheap though and should get a BIOS setup ASAP.

Hardwarecentral has a test of the Evoluent Vertical mouse 2 review which as its name indicateis a vertical mouse. A right handed high resolution optical mouse with a long thing USB cord. A winner? Yes if you believe the words of HC.

Moditory has a review of the Logitech DinoVo Media desktop. It consists of a Logitech MX900 cordless optical mouse, of a keyboard, a rechargeable stand and a media cum numeric pad. Apart from being stylish and very thin, it does its job very well.

The Sapphire Radeon X800XT 256MB gets a review, this time from Hardwarezone. This AGP model features 256MB DDR3 memory as well as one DVI and Dsub outputs and one VIVO. A plain high end card which overclocks moderately but enough to reach X800 XT PE speeds.

A special XFX Geforce 6800 Ultra gaming rig, currently the Number one card on Futuremark's Benchmark both in 3Dmark 03 and 05 is on test at VR-zone. The card is cooled at -90deg and hasa core running at 650MHz with memory clocked at 1.377Ghz, The processor used is an Athlon FX55 running at 3.45Ghz. µ
