Microsoft marketing misses Zune Domains

Nothing wrong with a .net
Fri Oct 06 2006, 08:48
THE MARKETING voles of Microsoft headquarters must have been slashing their wrists when they were told that company's rival to the iPod was to be called Zune.

According to Red Herring, one of the things that will be missing from the Zune's multiquillian dollar marketing campaign will be a traditional dotcom web site.

It seems when the Vole came to release Zune, the only site the Vole could find was a .net one. It seems Microsofties were a little too slow and www.zune.com was already taken by Antonio Nogales of London.

He has owned it since June 1998 and it seems to have been under construction since then.

There is nothing wrong with a .net handle, some very good sites use .net, but Microsoft needs all the help it can get to take down the iTunes component of the iPod.

Zunemarketplace.com is currently listed for sale on domain broker Sedo.com and it can be sold for $1,499. But apparently Microsoft was not interested. ยต
