We have a picture of the unit, but Ruby looks just fine on that machine and of course it's million times better than anything that Xbox one can render. There's no question about it.
ATI is talking massively about this chip and we know it's R500 and that this beast has 10MB of EDRAM memory. This memory has 512Mbit interconnections with the core making it at least twice as fast as external memory. And 10MB is enough for HDTV picture isn't it?
Being in bed with Microsoft is definitely a good thing as the Vole has something called DirectX and later WGF in its hands. I believe that ATI will benefit big time from this partnership as it will be much easier to convince Microsoft to alter specifications for future DirectX or WGF here and there.
Xbox 360 was all over the show from Microsoft's big booth to EA games, showing many of its upcoming titles for this console. A console revolution has already started at least as Microsoft is concerned. From the graphics side new battle front between Nvidia and ATI has just been opened. Will ATI and Nvidia managers ever grow up? I don't think so as even Intel and AMD thinks that those guys are slaughtering each others. Here is a picture of the Xbox at the ATI booth.
