Little wi-fi in Vancouver International, it appears

E3 - At the departure gate...
Wed May 14 2003, 10:10
PREVIOUSLY WE HAD denounced the availability of WiFi in airports and had railed about the inequities in life, and one of our readers was gracious enough to point out that Vancouver International Airport (YVR) was completely outfitted with WiFi (link to wifi letter).

Well, apparently either the WiFi in my laptop is bunk or maybe our reader was misinformed as I sit anxiously awaiting that pop-up indicating that a wireless connection is available. C'est la vie, I guess. In any case, the waiting is over. E3 is almost upon us, and my appointment book has been filled. One of the focuses of the 2003 event is mobility products, so we'll wander the show floor hoping to get our picture with some Mobility PR Bunnies.

This year promises to provide a bumper crop of games, and the wraps have been coming off several anticipated releases leading up to the event. On an interesting side note there are a number of companies based outside of North America this year, and we will be interviewing some of the more prominent ones as well as all the usual suspects. I will be providing daily coverage of the event, and writing feature articles as warranted. On a final note: Damn WiFi. ยต
