Lenovo, IBM announce Stinkpad notebook recall

IBM/LENOVO have recalled about 170,000 battery packs for their Thinkpad notebooks in the US.

But an additional 357,500 worldwide have been recalled too.

Sony made the battery packs. American federal org the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) said the lithium ion batteries can catch fire under certain circumstances.
