CHIP FIRMS AMD, Broadcom, Renesas, ST Micro, Atmel, Via, Silicon Storage and SMSC have received a writ from Opti alleging they've breached two of its patents.

The complaint alleges that the patents in question are the 5,944,807 and the 6,098,141 - both called Compact ISA bus interface.

The patent covers technologies including "trusted platform" modules, embedded controllers, IO products and the like.

Opti wants a jury trial and damages. µ
