THE GREEN TEAM might have pushed back the release of the 8800 GTS v2, but that hasn't stopped more details and pictures hitting the internet, courtesy of antsy manufacturers and mustard-keen hardware geeks.
The updated GTS, which sports 128 shader units, can be spotted in all its dual-slot splendour here, with what appears to be an unstickered reference unit.
Ditto here, which shows the bizarre angle the unit's fan sits at relative to the board.
The folks at TweakTown have also managed to get their mitts on one ahead of launch from an undisclosed partner here.
The card is now scheduled to launch on December 11, so if you ask Santa nicely you might just get one for a pre-Chrimbo delivery. µ
Angle scale for those not in the know

0º = normal
1º = slightly odd
2º = Skew wiffy
3º = on the wonk
4º = Whacky
5º = Bizarre

Lots of announcements from Nvidia but if they could just get the cards on sale as well...
The fan sits at an angle so when the card is in SLI with another card, the inside card can actually breath a bit.
Why can't the green team change their nomenclature? Why can't the 8800GT be the 8850 GT and this new GT be the 8850 GTS...so everyone will know which cards are G80 and which are G92...
You guys just have no shame.

112 Stream Processor version of the 8800GTS is already shipping.

128 Steam Processor version of the 8800GTS based on the G92 was never announced, therefore, how can it be delayed? December 11 sounds like a decent day to launch it.

You guys have your pride sold to the devils and pretty much say what people want you to say
agreed. it's easier to be just 8900GT and 8900GTS/GTX.

but in the end, the name could just be '8800GTS 512MB' -_-
TweakTown posted an 18 pg full review of the g92 8800gts http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1234/1/page_1_introduction/index.html
why are they lazy to make their own review & research, instead of posting links to diff. sites. I think all of us can search in web.
