Nintendo Wii supply dries up

Nintendo outstrips the PS3

THE WEEKEND launch of the Nintendo Wii has resulted in a sell out despite the fact that most shops had tons more to flog than Sony's PS3 launch two days earlier.

According to Associated Press, most Wii queues formed up in the morning before the shops opened. There was little of the hysteria that marked the introduction of the PS3.

However, there were enough punters in the queues to sell all Wii stocks. Nintendo said that it expected to flog four million units by the end of the year, but is not saying how many it cleared over the weekend.
