GOOGLE'S Youtube has successfully negotiated a deal with Lionsgate Entertainment to allow the video-sharing site to legally feature its film clips. Apparently, Lionsgate want to get paid for clips the masses are currently watching for free.

Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns described the agreement as a revenue sharing deal and told Reuters that films such as "'Dirty Dancing' [have been] watched tens of millions of times and it will be nice to get paid for that..."

According to Burns, Lionsgate will have "advertising around the clips and a link for electronic sell-through." µ
