Knickerless behind a browser
Giant bank dumps Apple Mac customers

May I draw your attention to the Marks & Sparks site at this address.

If you try to view this with Apple's Safari browser you are dumped to here, which informs you that:

"To provide you with the most fulfilling and up to date online experience, this web site has been optimised for use with the most popular browsers - Internet Explorer (version 5 and above), Netscape 6.1 and AOL browser version 5.0 and above.

"We are also working to support Speech Browsers

"If you are a Mac user, we recommend that you view this site in IE 5.01."

I emailed the M & S monkeys (April 23rd) asking why this should be but have had no reply.

I can use my browser of choice to run my bank account (HSBC) and several credit card accounts as well as order stuff from around the web but I must do so while knickerless thanks to the short comings of the M & S site designers who bar me from ordering from them.

Hey the M&S Safari problem can be worked around, if you have the debug Menu enabled.

Just go to "Debug"==>"User Agent" and change it from automatically chosen to MacMSIE.

So you can view the site with Safari after all ;o)

Oh, absolutely wonderful site contained in your link. "Insufficient encryption

"This document requires a larger secret key size for encryption than your browser is capable of supporting.

"Forbidden

"The proxy's access control configuration denies access to the requested object through this proxy".

And what a terribly handy address to remember: www.bankofscotlandhalifax-online.co.uk

What overpaid idiot thought of that one?

C'mon guys, stop this crap of making news and just report it. There's too much of it around, leaving those who don't bull, the middle folks, devoid of the real thing.

As much as nobody like the big twats, reporting must be fair.

If they haven't tested it on Apple Macs, they haven't tested it.

If that is not fair, someone then say so, and not as if they are bias towards IE.

Apple Mac users are a bunch of reverse snoots anyway. Just like those penniless arses who buy those Beetles [have you driven one? They are down right dangerous. You need a pilot's licence for them], just to show that they have "class", or junkie sophisticates.[and where would that leave the normal people who don't lord, drug, fcuk, or footie.]

Fair Reporting Rulez

[And the BoS vapourised £1,800+ of my share account dosh for 8 months... the liars]

Nvidia incredibly helpful
Nvidia FX5900/Ultra 256 reaches $900 on Ebay

Hi again, this is Dave Potts with the FX5900 Auction update. The FX5900 made it up to $980 but never reached the $1000 reserve price. I guess that is understandable, it is a lot of money for a video card. After the auction ended I had several people make me offers on the card, and I did accept the offers - none of the followed through though. I guess that happens and there is little that can be done about it.

I was unprepared for what happened next. I received a very nice email from nVidia stating that they saw the auction and wanted to know what they could do to help me both with paying my bills and getting me to keep the card. I can honestly say that, only two other times has a company gone beyond what they needed to do to help or listen to me. Both of those times was also by nVidia!

The first time, was when the president of the company went beyond kindness to listen to me and to work with me. The second time was when I won the FX5900. They did not need to offer all of the finalists the FX5900, but they realized that there were some glitches with playing the game at E3 (not hardware, just network issues) so it was more fair to offer us all the top prize. And then finally today when I received their kind email.

I have never seen a company that cares so much about their customers, they have gone way beyond what is required; to me this is a very refreshing change from the way some companies are run. On this note, I am very happy that the FX5900 did not sell. It is now running beautifully in my machine (although processor limited), I can play almost any game at 1600x1200 with 8x antialiasing and 8x ansiotropic filtering and no slow downs. I don't care about the issues of them "cheating" at benchmarks. Every company does it, you really can't rely on them that much anyway. But when a company goes beyond the norm, to me that means a lot. I will only purchase nVidia products from now on. To me, they have proven themselves to be a real class act.

Thank you

Media is corrupt, biased, money minded
Media power grab looms in USA

Difference is between not doing something, and withholding a service because of a bias.

My main point is that nowadays, the media is corrupt, very bias, and very money minded, such that money comes first, and news comes second. That's why news reporters crave for fame and they'll do anything to make news to become so.

When that is the reality, and it is, news reporting comes a distant second and making/creating news comes first.

As "democratic" [& how many % knowledgebly are so, in reality] societies are organised behind a money culture, everything becomes indexed to money, and it is a Money Organism.

Democracy is not demon-cracy, or abandonment, or everybody having a vote. It has immutable responsibilities and that does not mean making news to promote a cause. You cannot acheive that when money, and therefore power, is the main reason for surviving. Power, expressed through the 5 human senses is for corruption ONLY.

True power, like the Sun and its light, now that non-corruptible.

But you guys are on the "OK" pile, most of the time.

Gold diggers of the 21st Century
Liberate gold dust and help out a miner

Being a one time gold miner, I feel you should be suspicious of this 24K gold dust.

Gold always occurs as an alloy of other metals. Most free gold is 60-80% Gold and the rest silver, and the refiners deal with it as Dore bars. This is a contraction of D'or, the French of gold.

Of course this is just a variation of the letters from Mr Fundabeebly Owatapussiam, of Nigeria, I expect.

Here is one for the records.

I am Bill Gates, Chairman gates to the ROW, but Bill to you. For some time I have had a little program running on windows that takes the third decimal variance remainder and places it in a Swiss bank. I set this up in 1986, and forgot about it. It has now spread via passport, Net and MS Money to everyone in the world's bank account, except for yours. This morning I received a frantic call from the Swiss bank that their vault has started to fall towards the center of the earth due to the weight of this gold and I urgently need an account into which I can divert this money. SInce I cannot send it to any other account but yours, would you please advise me of your address and account and I will send you the gold.

Since I have plenty, I will let you have it all.
