OCZ ships fast timing DDR 2 1000

But very expensive

THE MEMORY wars are heating up with Corsair announcing DDR 2 1066 modules and OCZ DDR 2 1000 but at very cool timings.

OCZ is shipping OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Extreme Edition XTC Platinum Series and OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Extreme Edition XTC Platinum Series modules.

OCZ PC2-8000 2x1024 MHz works at DDR2 1000 MHz at amazing CL 4-5-4-15 timings. Both kits are available at Overclockers and some other places, but at press time, Overclockers had already sold all of them - they are listed as available in one to three days.

The option is not cheap as the 2x512 MB kit costs £234.94 including VAT while you have to pay a saucy £387.69 including VAT for 2GB of this memory. I think it is ridiculously expensive but people will obviously buy it. Check it out, here

Our American readers can buy 2GB of this memory here for $559.95.

Back at CeBIT, OCZ talked about its PC2 8800 memory that works at DDR 2 1100 MHz but is still not ready to ship it, it is still in the show off lab phase. µ
