Radeon HD takes out hardware site

Too popular by half

HARDWARE REVIEW SITE TweakTown had to pull its review of the ATI Radeon HD 2900XT graphics thingy when its servers crumpled under the weight of graphics card groupies wanting a peek.

Yesterday evening, the site was reduced to sending out the following email to its network of linking IT newsites:

"Hello everyone,
We are having massive server issues bringing you the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT review.
We will put it online tomorrow when other sites release their reviews to balance the load.
We reset and then two minutes later we are maxed out again. Sorry but our servers aren't up to this amount of hits and we still need to serve our regular traffic."

But by the early hours of this morning, other sites' reviews of the card had started to appear, lessening the load on the poor old TweakTown server farm. Apparently the review is now available for all to see here.

We don't know what concerns us most - that a hardware site can't keep its servers running, or the number of perverts made tumescent by the thought of a new graphics card. ยต
