Absent Kaspersky leaves the crowds waiting

Infosec London 2008 Come on Eugene

HEAVYWEIGHT MALWARE BUSTER, Eugene Kaspersky disappointed a crowd of fat-walletted potential customers yesterday when he failed to show up for his keynote address at the Infosec show at London's Olympia exhibition centre.

The technical wizard behind the line of security products sold by the firm with his family name, was apparently unable to get into the country, let alone Olympia.

They seek him here, they seek him there

Rumours that Kaspersky had failed to get a visa were partly true. An administrative error lead to the documents arriving late which meant that he could not get to London in time.

Kaspersky was due to host a cybercrime forum, and present a seminar at the well-attended security shindig. Organisers were forced to make hasty changes to the bill.

A spokesman said Kaspersky was "devastated" at not being able to attend. Poor flower. µ
