INTEL moved the QX6700 launch to early November and it knew it will make a paper launch. It sure got away with it as the first CPU's went on sales yesterday some two weeks later. It is still not easy to find it.

In the UK you can buy one for £718.99 including VAT but you will have to wait for a day or two as Dabs.bt.com is out of stock. It is listed here. Just for a comparison Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 2.93 CPU ends up faster than the quad thing costing £624.99 including VAT.

Oddly enough it is available in both Germany and Austria. The cheapest one we could find in stock costs €1037 and can be seen here. Go get them if you want to have the only quad core on the market. µ
