Dramurai cross fingers for Q1 memory rebound

'Fings ain't what they used to be

MEMORY WATCHER Dram Exchange said that prices of DRAM will continue to fall until the end of this year.

But it is optimistic that prices may "rebound" in Q1 of next year.

But it may be being way too optimisticm we fear. Because the site adds that no Dramurai except for Quimonda has yet to trim output.

During the Chinese New Year in February, memory fabs are often shut off for a week's maintenance.

Dram Exchange reckons that could be "a possible catalyst for a price rebound in the near term".

Perhaps this is proof that hope springs eternal in the human breast. µ

Lunar New Year is ambigious

According to Whackopedia, "Lunar New Year may refer to the beginning of the year in several calendars".
