Eidos and EA team up on mobile games

Tomb Raider mobile coming first

EIDOS AND EA have teamed up on mobile games to give the young 'uns even more ways to annoy everyone else on the Tube.

Having recently given up on pursuing Take-Two, it looks like Electronic Arts has turned its attention to other gaming companies. The exclusive multi-regional distribution and licensing deal will see some of Eidos' most well known franchises being distributed under the EA Mobile banner.

The three-year agreement gives licensing rights for Tomb Raider Underworld, Just Cause 2, California Games X and Minesweeper, with the possible addition of more titles in the future.

This could be a good move for both companies, giving EA access to a range of well known IP that's likely to be snapped by mobile loving teens, while giving Eidos a huge launch platform without having to shell out for the infrastructure required.

A mobile version of Tomb Raider Underworld will be the first game to come out under the new joint banner. Although, there is no indication of the minimum mobile screen size required to fit buxom Lara's Bristols and still see where she is going. µ
