Limited edition metal mouse mats and more

Hardware roundup
Wed Feb 19 2003, 00:19
ONCE YOU'VE GOT your shiny, expensive case with it's flashing lights and psychedelic fans, you might be wondering what's next. DVHardware have the answer in the form of a limited edition aluminium mouse pad from Coolermaster.

Sticking with aluminium and Coolermaster for a moment, Viperlair has managed to get its mitts on a case. Well, Matthew doesn't exactly get his mitts on it, he sits on it and stands on it instead.

Getting rid of the aluminium but sticking with cases, Danish readers might like to wonder over to Hardware Test for a look at the Thermaltake Xaser III case. Everyone else might want to take a look too (there's an English language version of the review). The case is something to behold though hardly understated.

Hexus has a play with a tiny, tiny Via Epia M9000 that has been designed with media in mind. It's not going to break any speed records but it might do for playing a DVD or two instead.

Surrounded by machines and fed-up of swapping keyboard, video and mouse between them, Andrew over at Sudhain takes a KVM switch for a spin. At the price though, you have to wonder whether it would be cheaper to buy new peripherals.

Burning into the night with a Philips DVD+R/RW review is Designtechnica. The drive may be good but the drivers are a different story.

You might think with a name like Ti4800 that the Albatron graphics card being reviewed would be faster than a Ti4600. It's all marchitecture, we tell you! myWorld has the benchmarks to show you.

Hard drives can run at high temperatures but they are designed to stand the heat. I am Not A Geek puts a thermometer up against a hard drive cooler and tries to decide if it's worth it. ยต
