Dual core wars start

THE MINUTE Paul Otellini finished his keynote we wandered out to the front of the Moscone Center to see the sun.

And what did we see? We saw a lady holding up a little AMD sign and behind her a big limo.

And then we saw three or four journalists climb into said limo, on their way to be briefed by the AMD people about its dual core technology.

AMD does this kind of thing at every IDF. Practically every foreign hack we've bumped into has an appointment booked.

At the Q&A for the press after his keynote, Otellini was asked about AMD but he said that this isn't a race, and that he was happy to see its chief competitor employing the technology too.
