Apple "worm" writer outed

Cored, blimey
Thursday, 19 July 2007, 08:19
INFORMATION SECURITY Sell Out, the anonymous writer of what he claims is an Apple worm, has been identified.

According to another anonymous security Sell Out is actually the hacker LMH, who is famous for the Month of Apple bugs project.

It is worthwhile pointing out that Cut Away is acting on a tip off from another anonymous security expert who added that LMH was linked to a team of hackers called the Phrack High Council ( no, really) which appears to be dedicated to trashing the IT security industry.

LMH has denied that it is anything to do with him or the Month of Apple Bugs project. But after Cut Away published his claims, "Sell Out" pulled the site.

There could be all sorts of reasons for this. Sell Out has claimed to develop an Apple worm and he does not really want his life flooded with Apple fanbois offering to kill him.

This also does not mean that Sell Out has not developed an Apple Worm. If he has the backing of the Prack High Council then it is possible, but it is also possible that it is just a cunning plan by the Council to take the mickey out of the insecurity industry.

The only way anyone will be certain is if Sell Out produces his Apple Worm as promised. More here. ยต
