EIGHT GIGABYTE NAND flash chips will be available soon, said Samsung, as it announced it's mass producing eight gigabit chips.

It will do that by stacking two 4GB packages with each of these using four 8Gbit dies.

Chips of 8GB capacity will be available this quarter, said Samsung, which is making the building blocks using a 60 nanometre manufacturing process.

Samsung will also use the chips in its high density MLC NAND aimed at multimedia mobile phones. µ
