A REPORT said the European Union will allow more advertising on TV and make product placement easier.

This could mean that you may see Cororonation Street characters toting Gucci handbags, and eating Rolo chocolates while Googling for Armani suits on Ebay.

According to the Wall Street Journal, most Euopean countries ban product placing although we can't imagine what's wrong with bunging Coca Cola, Thumbs Up!, Ferrari, Centrino and BMW all over the place.

Fortunately the new rules won't apply to the Interweb, so you won't see product placement suddenly appearing all over the INQ. µ
