CHIP OUTFIT, Intel has put together a central resource in a push to develop Linux software for mobile devices.

Dubbed Moblin, the project offers Intel hardware to developers working on the various parts of a platform.

According to linuxdevices.com, it offers a Linux kernel, together with frameworks for the user interface and multimedia use, plus a browser based on Mozilla and embedded Linux image creation tools.

Intel is particularly interested in the development of power management policies and clever software jiggery-pokery to prolong battery life. µ
