Console round-up Reported Xbox Live hacking

THE NINTENDO DS has beaten down the PSP for the third week running in Japan. However, all formats saw a drop in sales this week, according to Gamasutra.

Xbox 360
MTV, which has had its fair amount of Xbox-related news recently, has reported that further Xbox Live hacking has reared its ugly head, but this time its a little nearer to home.

Crunchgear has details of a new Xbox 360 coin-up, but doesn't like the idea much.

Square has stated that there will definitely not be a Final Fantasy Xbox 360 release in Japan.

PS2/PS3/PSP
It seems the PSP 3000, the new slightly redesigned PSP SKU, might come fitted with Dualshock 3 support.

Unfortunately, due to the brighter screen, the new PSP may have a lower battery life.

Despite intense competition, the PS3 will not be getting a price-cut this Christmas, said Sony Chairman and CEO Howard Stringer.

The UK will not be getting the new PS2 model.

Wii/DS
Nintendo has announced that it is upgrading its profit forecast due to the massive and unpredicted Wii sales.

An unconfirmed rumour is that Lucasarts is planning a Wii lightsabre game for use with the new Motionplus add-on.

If you're in need of a larger joypad, look no further than this four-foot SNES controller. µ

Microsoft Japan is already actually paying people to take the machines, with little success."We hope more people will be able to enjoy Xbox 360," said marketing marketer Takashi Sensui, "and we can stop enjoying quite so many of them. We also have this fine pile of HD-DVD drives ... Wait! Come back!"

Do you think the move was justified?
