DON'T KNOW how you guys feel about buying second hand stuff. Some people hate having to deal with already used stuff whereas for others, it's just something thay can happily deal with. Most website like Microdirect, Dabs or Ebuyer have a Clearance Corner and I found some stomping deals on the first one.

An ATI Rage 128 Ultra card which is an AGP 4x model with 32MB costs only £5.95+VAT. It might be useless in DOOM III but it would possibly be a much better choice than most integrated graphics chipset plus you don't have to pump memory from your system RAM.

Somre more deals include that K8M NEO-V MSI motherboard which is one of the cheapest Socket 754 boards in UK right now. It is an "As new refurbished" motherboard. Based on the K8M800, it comes with SATA RAID, the Unichrome Video module plus everything else integrated. A good component if you're thinking of starting a new basic 64-bit system. The price, £24.95+VAT. If you're looking for even cheaper then you might want to buy this MSI 645 Ultra-P4 motherboard which is a non integrated Socket 478 based using the SIS645 chipset. It has onboard audio, five PCI slots and an AGP. Refurbished but as new. Only £7.95+VAT.

Techfever is selling an integrated motherboard - the Mercury Turbo 4000+ for £58.58+VAT. Some of you might not like this one but I know that some will. It comes with an AMD XP 2000+, an Athlon, not a Duron one and is built around the KM266Pro chipset. Integrated everything and mATX means that it won't be the gamers choice but will fit the bill for your daughter's PC.

Other good deals for the day include that $209.99 BFG Geforce 6800 OC which is overclocked out of the box. It has 128MB memory and runs from the AGP port. Moreover, it is a retail version box with TV Out and DVI.

Some of you however might prefer the 6600GT from PNY, the VCG6600GAPB which has a 128bit 128MB GDDR3 memory. Retail version and more importantly two DVI ports.

We're trying to convince resellers in this column to offer freebies or additional discounts to our readers.
