NVIDIA'S NV44 based Geforce 6200TC (Turbo cache) card is finally taking shape in the European retail and etail market. In the last few weeks Holland based company called Point of View made quite a few announcements and it definitely can get some of the cards out first. Nvidia like's POW in Europe. At least it knows how to make a noise about it.

We spoke with company representatives and learned that it indeed has 6200TC cards and that it can ship them to retail and etail. This card features the ability to address system memory and use it as frame buffer memory. This means that your graphic chip can take system memory and run games on it. Nvidia calls this Turbo Cache.

Those cards actually have only 16 to 32MB of real memory and the rest is being taken from your system memory. The Point of View card has two memory chips. It's passively cooled and has TV out, DVI and VGA out.

Nvidia started to ship 6200 non-TC cards a month of two back but those cards are based on NV43-V chips, a slower version of the NV43, 6600 chip. 6200 standard cards have 128 or 256MB of real frame buffer.

We are not aware of the price but it should end up lower than €100 and for the 16MB version it could go as low as around €70 for the card.

ATI is expected to respond with its X300 PCIe Hyper memory card sometime in February. ยต
