Hiper walks like an Egyptian

CeBIT 2008 Cases and PSUs
Thursday, 6 March 2008, 13:17

HIPER, MAKER OF high-end PSUs has a new PSU to share, and a new lower end high end case. The case is called Osiris, the PSU is a Type M.

The Osiris is a shiny silver or anodized black alloy case, 6063-T5 for the metallurgists out there. If you call it Aluminum, be prepared to run for the door, they spent a lot of money on the alloy, and are quite proud of it.

The case opens easily, with some very high end latches, and even the fingers on the bottom are spring mounted and articulated. The window is EMI proof, it has a a mesh screen over the plexiglass, and there are fan mounts galore, tool free everything. Osiris even a slight mobo standoff to route cables around. Because both sides of the case have an easy open latched door, this is actually usable.

Osiris doesn't stop there, other nice touches abound. There are slot covers with grates on them to allow air exhaust from video cards, and each case has a serial number. Every Osiris has a keychain in the box with the case serial number on it, not necessary, but fun to have. It will retail for about 110 Euros excluding VAT.

The PSU is the standard Type M, but this time they have bumped it up to 1000W. It doesn't look much different from the others in the series, just more juice.

Last up, Hiper is now making cables. They have the same plastic mesh wrapper as the PSU cable bundles and are bright purple. They have an HDMI/HDMI and a HDMI/DVI version as well. ยต
