Parallels claims Mac desktop does not violate LGPL

Hey you, gerroff of my code
Friday, 6 July 2007, 13:54
SOFTWARE FIRM Parallels has rejected claims that its Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac OS X violates the Lesser General Public Licence (LGPL).

The outfit delivered a statement in which Parallels boss Nick Dobrovolsky said the software "meets all provisions of the licence."

Its Mac Desktop features Direct3D code from the free Wine Project, but Parallels - part of the SWsoft group - has only just made its cource code available to Winos. (In a zip file here).

Winos are still a bit miffed because, they say, Parallels has done not much more than a bit of superficial tinkering with the code. Heise says their investigations are on-going. ยต
