China will soon have more Internet users than US

And they can knock out satellites

CHINA WILL HAVE a bigger online population than the US in two years.

According to DPA, the estimated number of internet users in China soared by 23 per cent to 137 million last year.

Wang Enhai of the Chinese Internet Network Information Centre told the official organ the China Daily that growth will be even faster in 2007 and 2008.

Internet penetration now has exceeded 10.5 percent in the China and increasing number of people are now getting hooked to the Web as PCs and Internet access are becoming affordable, Wang said. The United States has an estimated 210 million Internet users and China will have over taken it by 2009, Wang said.
