Microsoft exec dumps shares as judge's ruling looms

Trousers a quick $25 mill

MAYBE THERE'S at least one Microsoft executive who feels that Federal Judge Collen Kollar-Kotely could still demand that a very heavy book be launched in the direction of the naughty monopolist.

Jeffrey Raikes, a Group Vice President at the company, unloaded 161,000 shares of the company's common stock yesterday, according to a Form 4 filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Raikes had already sold 204,000 shares on Wednesday this week and 110,000 shares Monday.

Raikes got $53.72 per share in his latest transaction. The price has slipped by around one per cent since. The filing revealed that Raikes still directly owns 5.4 million common shares and also "indirectly owned" 7,412 common shares, so maybe he was just hedging his bets.

But at least, now, if CKK's opinions send the Vole's share price a-tumbling, Raikes will have a handy $25 million or so in the bank for a rainy day. ยต
