Gives Samsung something to play

SONY PICTURES has announced that it will release its first seven titles on the Blu-ray format on June 20.

The roll-out will coincide with the first commercially available Blu-ray DVD player from Samsung and a Blu-ray-compatible PC from Sony.

Titles that will be rolled out will include "50 First Dates," "The Fifth Element," "Hitch" and the "House of Flying Daggers."

The movie studio said it will release a few more titles in the coming weeks. It might have to. House of the Flying Daggers has been around as a Blu-ray tester for a while and none of the others are exactly block-busters. µ
