HP heads into orbit

Lands $5.6 billion NASA contract
Wed May 23 2007, 18:06
MAKER OF expensive printer ink, HP has just won a huge contract to provide shed-loads of computer gear for NASA.

For the next seven years HP will provide NASA with $5.6 billion worth of desktops, workstations and other products. Among the gear are blade PCs with Linux and Unix capabilities, as well as servers and printers.

Details of the plan, other than some amazing hyperbole in the press release are fairly sketchy. We hope it doesn't blow up in their faces on re-entry. µ
